fixer splash
A blank piece of photo paper, coated with developer and fixer in varying degrees with various implements. After the paper dried I cut little windows in it and mounted it on cardboard stock with fragments of other prints underneath. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

deer bucket
I took this picture at a friend's house right before we went to see Low, and now whenever I listen to The Great Destroyer, this is what I see in my head. But it works.

motorcycle helmet
Me as a little kid, getting ready to take my dad's bike for a ride.
The previous statement was in jest. At the time the original picture was taken I was far too young to pilot a motorcycle.

mother & child pt. two
Going with yesterday's theme, my mom originally gave this to my cousin as a birthday present last year, minus the accessories. He was horrified, and when Christmas rolled around he regifted it to her. For his next birthday, she re-regifted it back to him, all trashed up, complete with cardboard box grotto. He loves it now.

mother & child
I have a version of this print somewhere that has the shadow of a hand reaching across from the left side. It gives the picture an entirely different meaning and feeling. I'll post it if I find it.

alternate invite
Alternate version of this piece. For this one I laid strips of cardboard over the paper for a few seconds as I exposed the image, which is where the lines come from. The face has a different scratch mask over it. And I solarized the area around the face, which is why everything is gray instead of white. Although it should be black, not gray, so I'm not sure what happened there.

zipperface
Self-portrait by scanner, then printed out on a piece of photo paper. And now I have scanned the print back into the computer, and I present it to you here as a full-circle kind of thing.

Mansion Show 2: success
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported local artists at the second annual Mansion Show last night. It was tons of fun. If you couldn't make it last night, the gallery is open every Saturday in June from 11am to 3pm.
I think this picture is a metaphor for the art world, but I'm not going to think too hard about how.

spinart pt. two
Another spinart print. I scanned it into the computer a long time ago, before I knew what "pixels per inch" meant, as you can see by the chunky blockiness of it.
