rearranged ruins
The source is a stone structure in an abandoned village on top of a mountain in Italy.
EDIT: It's actually part of a church in Carpineto della Nora.

The Mansion Show 2

Consider the above monstrosity your invitation to the second annual Mansion Show, at the Beebe Estate in Melrose on June 5, 2009.
Join my fellow mostly-broke art school alumni and me for an evening of prime art-lookin' (and purchasin'...?). Your eyes will feast on boatloads of painting, photography, sculpture, and all other sorts of artistic alchemy. Your tastebuds will be treated to free food, beer and wine. And your hands will be treated to some super sweet hi-fives, courtesy of me. We've doubled the amount of artists this year, which in turn will double the amount of fun had by all in attendance.
As Chris mentions, I've gone from 8-bit to 16-bit on these invitation flyers.

The Clearing session art

My current band is called The Clearing. Clare asked me, "Did you cut all the trees down?" Yes we did, if by "trees" you mean any sort of percussion or audio fidelity.
Here's all the cover art I've done so far for The Clearing practice sessions. You can hear Woods and Clearing songs here.

The Woods session art pt. two

My old band was called The Woods. We recorded all of our practice sessions. The image above is all the "cover art" I made for the sessions. All the images are from pictures I've taken. Some are straight, others are digitally messed-with.
I previously posted a bunch of Woods album art. I recently decided that a lot of them were super lame so I either punched them up a little, or made new ones entirely. I usually don't put a whole lot of thought into these. I just look for a picture that has something interesting going on that can be cropped into a little square. Either that or I take a random picture and Photoshop the daylights out of it until it looks cool. Sometimes I try to match the picture to the mood of the music, but more often than not I just stick the picture on there and hope it happens naturally. I'm pretty happy with this batch.

jewel heart

This image started as a digital picture I took by setting my camera on rapid-fire and waving it around. The actual image I captured is only half of what you see. What I'm saying is, imagine a line going down the middle of the image. One half of that is what the camera actually captured. I took that picture, made a copy, reversed it, and put the two together, and that's what you see above.
To me it looks like a chest cavity, or maybe a throat, with a heart dangling by a thread, and the heart has jewelry impaled in it and hanging from it.
This is probably one of my favorite things I've ever made. First of all, it looks really cool. Secondably, it's just crazy to me that I captured such a great image in such a haphazard way, and that I knew exactly what to do with it when I saw it. I like when things like that happen.
